In Life and in Death
Epilogue
When the object that had been stuck in its head was pulled out, it had lost the new senses it had brought, but regaining the control of its acts was well worth it. This mind of pain and hate had touched it too long. Yes it was finding itself blind with nothing but the weak energies what were this world's life forms, but it was better like this. It waited, and didn't have to for long. One energy had opened a passage and it had entered it, not knowing where it lead but confident it would be better than here. To an observer, it would have seemed its body disintegrated, but even if it had known it wouldn't have cared.
Its trust was rewarded; it was back into its world. A long time had passed since then. It had grown, and was now ready to find a female. Its mind too had developed, it understood things it wouldn't have even imagines before. Its barely one month long misfortune had given it at least a thousand years of maturity, it was adult and was now learning wisdom.
It would seem that for an entity of its species, fate had in fact favoured it. Maybe. But it had learned much more than it should. Enslavement, terror, suffering, it passed, it was forgotten. What obsessed it was what the Silver Crystal had let it sight. An exaltation, a vicious and inconceivable joy, a happiness that could only be taken by spreading its counterpart of unhappiness elsewhere.
It had found traces of it, of this joy, through the weaker males, but it wasn't enough. While its still young wisdom advised it would never satisfy it, it went to its quest. Each success enflaming its desire, each defeat doing as much, a desire stronger than morale and reason. It would return one day to this world, no matter the weak beings it would have to kill to feed, for it was there it would find the crystal who showed it everything, it was there it would find the object of its quest, it was there after all it had learned of the existence of a thing such as power.
