BRYN MAWR, Pennsylvania (AP) -- If you ever meet Dawn Ramsey, you'll immediately notice something very different about her.
Odds are you'll be drawn to her fingernails -- some of which are over seven inches long. She hasn't cut her nails in eight years.
No, the suburban Philadelphia woman isn't protesting anything. She says she just wants to do something "a little bit out of the norm."
Ramsey is an elementary school teacher, and her students say they've gotten used to the giant fingernails. That may be because she reassures new arrivals that she won't use them to hurt anyone.
As for everyday chores, Ramsey says she does fine, though she admits her mother handles the laundry and the dishes.
